Gilmore's extensive two-decade career as an IT Leader, including his time at Duke Energy, showcased transformative leadership in Enterprise Architecture, modernizing legacy and Cloud Native solutions. His expertise spans Multi-Cloud, IoT, and Product delivery. He led Software Engineering and Innovation practices, emphasizing transparency and executive-level reporting in a Data-first, Digital-first, and Cloud-first approach.

His career in IT was fueled by transformative educational experiences that ignited his technological prowess. These experiences taught him the importance of exposure and positive role models within technology. Beyond work, his community impact is profound. He founded "App YOUniversity" to empower underserved youth in tech. Believing in Design Thinking and Coding, he aims to nurture 10,000 skilled coders within 3-5 years. Active in organizations like SIM–Charlotte and Apparo, his commitment to technology education is unwavering.
